1: What is The National Aquarium’s main mission and goal?

2: Where is the aquarium located?

The National Aquarium is one of the 11 anchors located in Al Qana Project, a 2.4km social dining and entertainment waterfront destination located in Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street, Rabdan Area, Abu Dhabi UAE.

3: What are your opening hours?

Sunday – Saturday 10am-10pm

4: Are there any special discounts for students/teachers?

We will not have any discount for students. For the teachers on the other hand, are eligible to avail the discount when presenting the teacher’s ID at the ticketing counter, we will however, have educational programs/tours!

5: Are there annual tickets?

Yes, we offer annual ticket memberships.

6: What is the ticket price for People of Determination?

People of Determination and their companion enjoy a 50% discount per ticket.

7: Do you provide wheelchairs to guests if needed?

Wheelchairs are provided free of charge as long as a valid ID is submitted at the counter.

9: How many zones does The National Aquarium have?

The aquarium tour is made up of 10 different zones, taking you on a journey around the world.

10: How big is the aquarium?

The National Aquarium is spread across 10 zones and covers an area of over 9,000 sq meters, making it the largest aquarium in the Middle East.

11: How many animals are in The National Aquarium?

The National Aquarium is home to 46,000 marine and terrestrial animals responsibly and ethically sourced.

12: Are there any age limits at the aquarium?

The National Aquarium will cater to all age groups. However, no child or children under the age of 12 will be admitted to The National Aquarium unless they are accompanied by an adult aged 16 years or over and such child or children whilst on site must remain under the control or supervision of an adult at all times.

13: Are there taxi stops near The National Aquarium?

There will be multiple taxi and bus stops around Al Qana available to visitors.

14: How much time would we spend at the aquarium?

The National Aquarium will provide an unrivalled experience, with an average journey lasting around two hours. This is approximately double the length of experience found in other aquaria in the region.

15: Is there free parking at The National Aquarium?

TNA is one of the 11 anchors in Al Qana which will have over 1,400 surface parking free of charge

16: Is there a gift shop at the aquarium?

Yes, the aquarium will have a retail store that will be accessible to both the Aquarium and Al Qana visitors filled with merchandise and souvenirs of the Aquarium experience to take home.

17: Are tour guides provided?

We offer our guests a mobile signage guide which is a free service offered that allows visitors to obtain the information for each exhibit directly on their mobile phones in six languages: Arabic, English, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi & Russian.

18: How is the aquarium affiliated with The Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi?

The National Aquarium signed a 5-year partnership with The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi to help create the largest and one of the most innovative rehabilitation schemes of its kind to protect and rehabilitate wildlife in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

19: What is the Wildlife Rescue Program?

The Wildlife Rescue Program is a partnership between the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi and The National Aquarium with a mission to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release native wildlife in the Abu Dhabi Emirate.

20: Do you keep the turtles in the aquarium after you rescue them?

The turtles rescued will be pre-released in our UAE’s Natural Treasures Zone after going through the designed rehabilitation process. When the temperature of the water rises (Which is normally around May) the turtles will be released back into their homes.

21: How do you ensure the animals safety during transport or transit to your facility?

When transporting the animals we consider every aspect of the journey in fine detail. Temperature, oxygen supply, length of journey and transport containers are all specified as per the animal’s needs.

22: How do you ensure the animals safety and well-being during their captivity at The National Aquarium?

All enclosures are built in accordance with the best practice of leading zoos and aquariums around the world. An expert team provides the daily nutrition, medical and enrichment care required and all is as per international standards such as WAZA.
